As I’ve mentioned before, there’s absolutely nothing I love more than a staycation. There’s nothing better than leaving your home and heading to a local hotel you love, especially if it means a short commute. And since Matt and I have been busy with work and wedding stuff lately, we’ve been taking advantage of some of the amazing spots our city has to offer.

The hotels below are not only some of the best in the area, but they’re also ones I can personally vouch for, too. Enjoy!

The Surfrider Malibu

23022 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu, CA 90265

Located right on PCH, this Instagram-worthy hotel reminds me of a modern California Beach House. It was originally built in 1950, and was recently redesigned to make every Malibu visit magical. Every room features ultra-soft Bellino Linens and Grown Alchemist Organic Skincare products (enough to make me want to LIVE there), and it’s across the street from Malibu Farm – one of my favorite by-the-beach brunch spots! Be sure to make your way up to the rooftop at sunset for drinks.

Montage Beverly Hills

225 North Canon Drive, Beverly Hills, CA 90210

Steps from rodeo Drive, this hotel is by far my favorite in LA. The rooms are grand-yet-cozy, the service is impeccable, and the two-level spa is unlike anything I’ve been to before. I could spend hours lounging by the rooftop pool with a book – it’s amazing. My family and I spend a lot of time at this hotel, so they literally treat us like family, and in a city like LA, that’s hard to find. It’s pricey, but if you’re looking to splurge on a local night away, this should be it!

Shutters on the Beach

1 Pico Boulevard, Santa Monica, CA 90405

Set on the coastline in Santa Monica, this hotel boasts incredible dining options and rooms designed to make you feel like you’re in your very own beach house. While you’re there, be sure to pop by main street or Abbot Kinney for some shopping and lunch – you’ll find some of the best spots in the city. And with options like yoga on the sand and bike rentals for jaunts around town, there’s something for everyone. When I’m here, I never feel like I’m in LA.

Four Seasons Westlake Village

Two Dole Drive, Westlake Village, CA 91362

While this hotel is outside of LA, it’s SO worth it! The hotel is absolutely everything you’d expect from a Four Seasons, but the spa is what sets this spot apart. Ranked one of the best in the world, it also features an on-site wellness center led by a renowned team of doctors and experts. I have a few friends that have attended the center, and they continuously rave about the incredible results. It’s a must-try on my list.

The Sixty Hotel

9360 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills, CA, 90212

If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly staycation option, I love the Sixty Hotel. Modern and cool with views of the city, this trendy hotel is set right on Wilshire Boulevard. Rooms are luxe yet comfortable, and the rooftop pool and bar is the perfect spot to host a party or just get together with friends. This hotel is always a good time.
