The Things You’ll Always Find in my Fridge

I love sharing little sneak peeks into my life with you guys. Whether it’s my favorite skin care lines, local nail spots, or details about my wedding, I’m always thinking of new ways to be more open and real about my every day. That said, I was recently thinking about new topics to write about on the blog, and realized I haven’t shared much about the things Matt and I eat at home. Naturally, I thought I would start with sharing the things we always have in our fridge.

You’ll probably notice that most of the things in our fridge are perfect (and healthy) on-the-go staples. And while there are definitely more items (hello, leftovers!) in our fridge, the items below are tried-and-true staples that Matt and I reach for time and time again.

Read on for the things you’ll always find in my fridge.

Oatly Barista Oat Milk

OatlyOat Milk Barista Edition

Matt and I are completely and utterly obsessed with this almond milk. I love all of the amazing coffee spots near our house, but whenever I make a latte at home with this, I wonder why I don’t do it all the time. It’s super-thick and creamy, tastes absolutely delicious, and is soy-free, dairy-free, and vegan. What’s not to love about that?

Essentia Bottled Water

EssentiaAlkaline Water

You’ll never catch me without a bottle of water by my side. I’m constantly hydrating because I know how good it is for my body and skin. That said, the two water brands we always have in the fridge are Essentia and Fiji. I love Essentia because it has alkaline properties and electrolytes. I honestly feel like it just hydrates me better than plain and simple water, which is why I never head to the gym without it.

Fiji Bottled Water

Fiji water is another favorite – I can’t explain it, but it tastes better than any other water brand I have tried.

Perrier Bottled Water

PerrierCarbonated Mineral Water

Matt and I don’t drink much soda, so Perrier is a major staple in our house. I love how refreshing it is at any time of the day. I’ve tried a bunch of the newer Sparkling water brands (even the lemon flavored ones!), but I always find myself going back to this tried-and-true favorite.

Vital Farms Eggs

Vital FarmsEggs

Since Matt and I are constantly on the go, eggs are a major staple in our house. Full of protein, if you hard boil them they are a great quick grab-and-go snack if we’re headed to work or on errands. They keep us full for a long time, and it’s nice to grab something healthy instead of a sugary or salty snack that may be in the pantry. When I’m not hard boiling them, I’ll whip some up for breakfast or dinner, too.

Matt and I absolutely love fruit and it is pretty much always in my fridge. But, while I love everything from apples to cherries to oranges, berries are a staple in our house (added bonus of berries is that there are tons of antioxidant properties). We eat them solo all the time, but also add them to things like oatmeal, chia pudding, pancakes, and smoothies.

Veggies

In SeasonVeggies

We eat a ton of veggies in our house, so our fridge is full of them! I especially love stocking up on nutritious greens like spinach. Other times, we’ll sautee them for a nice side dish with salmon or use them for salads. I also love carrots, zucchini – you name it. We tend to pick up our veggies at the Farmer’s Market on the weekend – freshly picked veggies just taste different! Pro tip: if you’re planning on using veggies for smoothies or juices, store them in the fridge to make them last longer. It works, trust me.

Dave's Killer Bread Thin Sliced

Dave’s Killer Bread21 Grain Thin Sliced

If you haven’t tried this bread yet, do yourself a favor and grab some the next time you’re at the market. Dave’s Killer Bread is pretty much the only bread we’ll eat. It’s organic, truly whole grain perfection with an ingredient list that is short and easy to pronounce. The brand’s thinly sliced bread is perfectly textured and a little bit sweet, which makes it perfect for sandwiches, avocado toast, and so much more.

Sabra Classic Hummus

SabraClassic Hummus

I love to put hummus on everything! Sandwiches, veggies, tortilla chips – the more, the merrier in my opinion. I love it because it’s a super-healthy, nutritious snack that’s also filling. It’s full of fiber, protein, amino acids, and calcium, which I love, too. I know there are a ton of great brands at the market (Sabra is my favorite), but I found the best hummus vendor at our local Farmer’s Market which is our other favorite. Again, it not only tastes fresher, but it also literally has three ingredients, which makes me love it even more.
