Hello, warmer weather. It’s me, Erin. I’ve been waiting for you. Sandal season is finally upon us. And, right now is the best time to take inventory of your old favorites, seek out this season’s best trends, invest in new pairs, and—if you’re like me—book a pedicure at Olive & June, so you’re fully prepared!

Whether you’re headed on a getaway or to the beach, you’re going to need to pack the perfect sandal first. Heeled, laced for a night out or flatformed for a statement, there’s one for every occasion. And, before you hit ‘Complete Order’ on your shopping cart, I thought I would put together my favorite summer sandal trends this season and show you how I love to style them, so you can achieve “the looks” you’ll be seeing all summer long!

90’s Minimalist

This trend is huge this season. Currently there are over 300 results when you search on Net-a-Porter. I think the reason why this trend is everywhere is because it feels fresh with a barely-there vibe that is very Carry Bradshaw-esque. Think of this sandal as the 90’s minimalist, a delicate addition to any outfit.

How to Style: Keep it casual. Denim and a white t-shirt will really make the sandal feel as effortless as it really is.

Sporty, But Make It Fashion

Sporty platforms (or tourist sandals to some) are having a major fashion moment. Tevas to Chanel are taking this shape and making it the new ugly-cool thing (think dad sneakers but summer) to dress down and pair with high waisted denim or flirty dress this summer.

How to Style: Mix and match. A chunky flatform or bold sporty sandal paired with biker shorts and a flirty top gives this look a feminine balance with a bold statement.

Brights

Neons were all over the runways this Spring and transitioning into summer, they’re popping up in footwear. Making your sandals the flashiest part of your outfit with a vibrant hue will be the perfect foundation for your summer look.

How to Style: Start from the bottom up. Here I’ve styled these lemon mules with a longer denim cut-off, white crop and blazer. The trick is to keep everything neutral so the heels pop.

I would love to know some of your favorite sandal trends this summer and how you’re looking forward to styling them! Let me know in the comments below.
