Smart Home Essentials:
Nest Security Camera

Matt and I have totally become those crazy people that want to keep an eye on their dog 24/7 (mostly because we started using the app Wag and let random people into our home), so we are planning to get a Nest Cam to do so. I love how this camera has a rotating magnetic stand so you can keep it anywhere. It also has audio and zoom enhance so we can hear (and see!) Kobe wherever he is while were away. The sleek deign doesn’t hurt our home’s aesthetic, either. The best part? We can watch all of his shenanigans via our phones, wherever we are in the world. How creepy am I?!
Amazon Echo Show

This is the smartest home gadget in the game in my opinion. On the echo show, you can see your agenda at a glance by connecting your calendar to Alexa, check in on security cameras, watch shows or YouTube, FaceTime friends and family, play games, set timers (perfect when you’re in the kitchen cooking), ask questions you’d normally have to grab your phone to google, and so much more. It also looks super sleek and stylish in a kitchen or bedroom – or anywhere else for that matter.I don’t have this yet but seriously think it is genius especially when you have kids and your hands are full.
Ring Doorbell

Ring Doorbells are making waves in the world of smart home accessories. These things are awesome – they tell you who’s at your door and what they’re doing there thanks to a built in camera. The coolest aspect is that you can communicate with whoever is there without ever having to get off the couch or bed. They’re all about remote access – you can literally see what’s happening at your door wherever you are in the world. Lastly, there are a ton of options, so there’s a Ring for every pricepoint. My sister has one at her house and is OBSESSED with it.
Smart Bluetooth Enabled Multifunctional & Fully Programmable Pressure Cooker

If you’re a fan of your slowcooker, buy an Instant Pot STAT. The Instant Pot Smart is a smart-cooker that can pressure cook, slow cook, steam, sauté, warm, and so much more. Matt and I don’t have one yet but are thinking of exchanging a wedding present so that we can get this instead to that we can cook everything from homemade chili to yogurt to fish. It speeds up cooking 2-6 times and uses 70% less energy than other methods. The best part? It’s Bluetooth enabled so you can program it and monitor it from your phone. My friends are also obsessed with this lifechanging (yes, lifechanging…things like this become life changing in your mid to late 20’s I guess) kitchen essential.
The Nest Thermostat

A sleek and stylish thermostat? Yep. Besides learning your heating and cooling pattern to help you conserve energy and save on your electric bill, the Nest also lets you change its temp from your smartphone – anywhere in the world. The dial is easy to work and the design fits right in with everything from modern to traditional home décor.
Withings Aura Smart Sleep System

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I’m one of those people that needs a good night’s sleep. This sleek little machine is definitely at the top of my “want” list right now because it really does it all. It’s a sound machine, lamp, and sleep tracker in one. The red light apparently helps increase melatonin, which is proven to help you get better sleep. And the sensor pad that sits under your mattress is designed to help track how much tossing and turning you’re doing throughout the night. If you’re also in need of an alarm, it also features sounds and lights that are designed to help you wake up.
