When it comes to the new year, I’m all bout setting goals and intention rather than typical resolutions. I tend to break my goals down into two categories: professional and personal.
New Years Goals
To start, this year, I want to travel more. I was incredibly lucky to travel as much as I did last year. Between a once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon through Africa to some amazing blogger weekends away, I experienced things I’ve only dreamed about, and feel so grateful for that. This year, I have a huge list of places I want to travel to (see the full list in a blog post I did here).
I posted about this in a recent post I wrote on ‘Tips To Organize Your Life“, but Matt and I have some big goals for the next few years, and I’m making it a point to save and budget as much as I can this year. I’ve heard of a few good budgeting apps like Mint, but if you guys have any you love, send them my way.
My next goal is to be more confident in myself. As a blogger and because I am constantly posting pictures of myself, people often think it’s strange when I say I’m like every other person and have insecurities of my own and am a little on the shy side. I wouldn’t say I am an insecure person and don’t love myself, because I do, but I am human and have things I can always improve on and would like to strengthen.
This year, I am definitely going to make this a focus. I want to make sure all the decisions I make are good for my brand, for myself, and of course, for my followers. Because I can be a little on the shy side and a home body, I sometimes say no to things I later wish I had said yes to. I’m hoping that this year, I switch that up a bit and say yes a little more. Life’s too short, right?
This is actually something I think I do a good job at but while I am young I want to put an extra focus on this. It is important to me to not stress about the small stuff and have more fun. For me, fun means building more memories with Matt, my friends, and my family. I want to try new restaurants, new workouts (for me, fun is also bout finding fun ways to get in shape), and new looks that I normally wouldn’t.
Professionally, I have some goals I want to make happen, too. In 2018, I really started to develop a strong relationship with a lot of my followers. I felt super-connected to so many of you thanks to DMs, polls, blog comments, and even meeting some of you in person (BTW I love when you stop me to say hello!). This year, I’m looking forward to building a closer, more candid relationship with each and everyone one of you. I want to blog about more personal topics, host my first-ever meet and greet, and connect with more of you on a deeper, more personal level. I’m also excited to work with new brands I know and love. I’m working about some exciting collaborations with some pretty amazing brands and I can’t wait to share these partnerships with you, so stay tuned.
What are your new year goals?
