Post Holiday Workout Plan
After the holiday is a hard slap of reality. Gone is the excuse of delayed responses because “the holiday’s are crazy”, gone is the excuse of laziness, not working out and eating unhealthy all the time because the holiday’s have all officially passed. I strongly believe in breaks. Being able to press pause once in a while is important.
I also strongly believe in laziness and enjoying life. Whether that means napping everyday, eating off your regular food plan, or having a glass of wine a little more frequently. I think it’s a good quality to be able to turn on and off sometimes. When you can shut off sometimes, it allows you to come back into your real life, where responsibility is necessary and feel like you’re looking at it all with a new perspective. Exercise for me is a great way to kick start your body and your mind back into your everyday responsible schedule.
3 Favorite Work Outs After A Holiday
I have narrowed this down to three work outs that truly re-motivate me and push me back into life. These work outs are NOT easy, but they definitely will get you back to your pre holiday mind.
Work Out #1: Barry’s Bootcamp
My trainer actually is a trainer at Barry’s Bootcamp also and it is KILLER. Barry’s is a high intensity 60 minute work out. It’s around 30 minutes of sprint intervals on a treadmill and 30 minutes of toning with weights. Everyday of the week they focus on working out a different body part. So, if you wanted to go everyday you’d get the best results ever. This work out I actually didn’t like at first because it was really intimidating and it is really hard but I learned that I can go at my own pace (my version of a sprint is way different than a lot of the people in these classes) and it is so rewarding once you finish. Take this class and tell me you don’t have the craziest adrenaline rush when you’re done!
Work Out #2: SoulCycle
SoulCycle is the perfect way to get back into a regular schedule. SoulCycle does a good job of pushing you and inspiring. I often times leave SoulCycle more motivated than when I came in.
Work Out #3: Hiking With Friends
Going on a hike with friends is a great way to ease back into everything. It can be a really difficult work out, it is nice to be outside and it’s always more motivating and fun to go with friends than alone.
