Styling A Velvet Slip
Dress Three Ways
When purchasing items, thinking about how I can style them multiple ways is always one of the first thoughts that comes to mind. I love having items in my closet that can be more many times and multiples way and this velvet dress from Paige is the perfect example. See how I styled one velvet slip dress three ways:
Style #1: Slip Dress On It’s Own
The great thing about this slip dress is how amazing the fit is. It shows off your natural curves in the perfect way, and doesn’t cling onto anything you wouldn’t want to show off. The velvet element is an extra special touch. I love how festive the velvet material feels for the holiday’s and how it also helps distract from anything you might not feel as comfortable showing off that a typical slip dress might.
Style #2: Add A T-Shirt
By adding a vintage t-shirt under this dress it gives the outfit a completely different look and feels a bit more edgy. What I especially love about the outfit is how the velvet combats the edgy t-shirt and you can still feel the femininity of this look. I feel like this outfit is a bit more sexy, even though it is more covered up than the slip dress on it’s own.
Outfit #3: Grab A Cardigan and Wrap The Dress
If you’re like me, you almost always get cold wherever you go. Maybe not outside, but whenever I go into a restaurant or to a meeting, I find myself cold and wanting a sweater. This outfit option is amazing because not only is so cute and, to me, high fashion, but it is also super practical. By using the velvet rope to tie the cardigan around your waist, it makes the slip dress / cardigan combo super cool and less basic, looks flattering on your body, and is also really practical by keeping you warm.
