Styling A Scarf
Trend alert: scarf. It’s no secret that I love wearing items that I can repurpose many ways. Most often these are items that I can wear dressed up or dressed down and it’s a clothing item but this trend is especially fun. Scarves are back but not in a traditional way. You can now wear them many ways and for many different types of looks. A few of my favorite ways to do this are wearing a scarf as a headband, wearing it as a belt, or in a more traditional way around your neck.
How To Style A Scarf #1: As A Headband
This look knocks off two trends in one. Headbands are having a moment this season and using a scarf as a headband is a great way to test this look out without having to invest in so many different accessories. I wore this trend while I was in Spain this Summer and I loved it. It felt so feminine and also made my outfit so much more interesting. Wearing a scarf as headband you can wear this so many ways – two immediate ways I think of are over your hair for a more bohemian look (great for a beach vacation and Coachella) or under for a more preppy tailored look.
How To Style A Scarf #2: Around Your Neck
Styling a scarf around your neck is always a classic great way to wear a scarf. It gives your outfit a lot of personality in an edgy, understated way. Like a headband, you can wear a scarf around your neck a few different ways: one way is how I styled it below, which is an edgier for more fashion forward way, the other is a traditional way where you wrap the scarf around your neck with two sides hanging down in the front, or third, you can double the scarf and wrap is tightly around your neck.
How To Style A Scarf #3: As A Belt
This look is one of my favorite ways to style a scarf most recently. It’s functional and so cute. It made this basic jeans and t-shirt outfit that I wore the other day look so much cuter, less boring and like a more stylized outfit. Wearing a scarf as a belt is also a fun, subtle way to bring color into your outfit when you want to keep everything else neutral.
