Who doesn’t want to feel like they dress California cool? Well, probably a lot of people… but being from California, that’s definitely not the case for me. When you think of California, you probably think of the beach and laid back style. Truthfully, I do too and I love it. The best part of being from California is that the fascination tourists experience for that lifestyle never gets old to a local either. I love being in a city but also live for that beachy, laid back life. I’m definitely someone who needs a combination of both lifestyles. Anyway, back to California cool style…
What does California cool even mean?
To me, California cool means effortless. It means I picked out my outfit quickly in my closet and threw it on but naturally look cool. It means I may or may not have brushed my hair. Who knows! California cool can mean so many things but I feel like people typically think about denim shorts, which is true. I actually wrote a post about this once before. So, when you’re over wearing denim shorts year round, or when the temperatures drop a little… how do you push the fashion boundary? How do you mix fashion with California style?
How To Push The Fashion Boundary
If you’ve read other blogs from me, then we all know by now that I love pushing the boundaries. In a literal art way I am a “color within the lines” kind of girl but with fashion I definitely am not. I am intentional but not a rule follower and I like it that way. Take this outfit for example. Leather pants, a light sweatshirt, a hat…and sandals. You may sa huh?! I say YES! There’s something so unexpected about wearing sandals with this type of an outfit but somehow it works…and in California, anything goes ;).
