Are Polka Dots The New Basic?
Polka dots have become a favorite pattern of mine. I hesitate to type pattern because to me it has become such a basic. It’s hard to clash anything with polka dots and it also adds the perfect amount personality to an outfit while remaining neutral. Needless to say, my love for polka dots is only increasing and thankfully for me there are so many options out there right now for this type of a look.
4 Polka Dots Items Everyone Should Have One Of In Their Closet:
- Polka dot top
- Polka dot dress
- Polka dot skirt
- Polka dot head scarf
How I Would Style Each Item:
With each polka dot item, there is a cute way to wear it so I thought it would be fun to put together four different outfit ideas using each of these items as the main piece.
Outfit #1: The Polka Dot Top
This polka dot cami by Cami NYC is one of my all time favorites. Cami NYC make some of my favorite cami’s that I own and they are such good quality. I would wear this top with this AGOLDE black denim skirt and Raye clear sandals.
Outfit #2: Polka Dot Dress
I am in love with polka dot dresses. They have such a romantic, classic feel to me. I wore them recently in a photo with Matt and I think it set the mood so perfectly! I paired this specific dress with simple black sandals when I went out with Matt but I also re-wore the dress with Superga sneakers for a daytime look. The options are really endless!
Outfit #3: Polka Dot Skirt
Wearing a polka dot skirt is so much fun! I actually don’t own one yet but it is on my list. It is so fun, unexpected, and if done right, chic and who doesn’t want to be all of those things?! I love this skirt from Topshop so much and I feel like there are so many many ways to wear this type of an outfit! For Summer I love the idea of wearing this with a scalloped black cami and simple, cute sandals.
Outfit #4: Polka Dot Head Scarf
The most simple way to execute this trend, yet equally as effetely. I love wearing scarves in my hair as you have seen in previous posts and it is even cuter with polka dots. Style this look simply with a sundress like this Free People one and chic sunglasses (these are only $14).
