My Thoughts On Yoga Pants
If you asked me when I was younger, I would tell you yoga pants will not be seen on me besides in yoga when I absolutely need to wear them. Even when I was younger I wasn’t the typical cute outfit work out girl kind of outfit. I was the shorts or sweats with a sleep shirt to the gym and pilates kind of girl. I know they were cool then and cool now…but until now, I wasn’t jumping on board. More recently, my thoughts have changed. Maybe it’s because I work from home or coffee shops primarily and like to be comfortable when I’m there but you actually can make some pretty cute outfits out of this look. I’ve come up with five different outfit ideas that you can definitely wear with your leggings.
Yoga Pants Outfit #1: The Work Out Gear Look
This is the most obvious outfit idea because everyone will need and want to wear this. If you’re reading this, you most likely work out and if you work out, you most likely own leggings to want to have suggestions on what to wear with them or which ones to wear. My favorite leggings at the moment are by Lululemon. Lululemon and I have a love-hate relationship. They are super pricey, and lately, I don’t feel like the quality is as good (they don’t last me as long) but I do like how comfortable they wear, how breathable they are, and I like how they just keep everything smooth and in place. Previously, I really liked (and still do) Alo Yoga and I know my friends like Outdoor Voices, although I personally find OV to be very unflattering on me. I would wear this to work out with Nike‘s or APL’s that I love. I’d wear it with a sweatshirt like this.
Yoga Pants Outfit #2: Add A Leather Jacket
This sounds kind of weird and doesn’t make sense at first but try adding a leather jacket to your yoga pants outfit and you will feel really cute and put together. When I going from the gym to run an errand right after, I will bring a leather jacket in my car. It weirdly adds something to your look and adds an element of cuteness. My favorite leather jacket to wear with this is pricey but I’ve literally had it forever and it doesn’t get old!
Yoga Pants Outfit #3: Over The Knee Boots
Let’s take this outfit one step further and really out of your comfort zone. Over the knee boots have been a staple in women’s wardrobes for so long now. There also is nothing worse than trying to wear a pair of over the knee boots and no jean is the exact “skinniness” that you need for them to lay nicely in your jeans. Try swapping your denim for a pair of yoga pants but dress them up to look different. I would wear my Stuart Weitzman Highland boots which I think everyone should invest in, a pair of Alo Yoga airbrush leggings, and an oversized sweater like this Acne one.
Yoga Pants Outfit #4: Grab A Blazer
Blazers, which are most commonly used for dressy affairs, have become one of my favorite go to items in my closet. They’re so easy to just grab and go and to elevate pretty much any look. Not saying you should wear them with any look but sometimes it is a good idea. In this instance, it can definitely be a cute casual look. I love this plaid oversized one from Treasure & Bond.
Yoga Pants Outfit #5: Cardigan
Lastly, grab a cardigan from your closet next time you’re out the door to a work out class. This will be perfect for both your work out and anywhere you have to go after. I love wearing a cardigan and I feel cute running my errands in them, not to mention they are very flattering. Free People has great options for clothing pieces like this.
Which of these five looks is your favorite or the most you? Do you already wear any of these or is there one you’re likely to try next? Let me know in the comments below!
