Face Masks to Conquer Cooler Weather
I don’t know about you guys, but the recent wind and drop in temperature has left my skin in need of some serious TLC. But instead of switching up my entire skincare routine, I’ve found myself reaching for some hydrating face masks to conquer this newfound dryness.
The masks below are the ones I’ve found to work best on dry, dull winter skin. Each does something different, but they all come complete with the same goal: to deliver moisture-boosting benefits for skin that looks gorgeous and glowing. Read on for my favorites.
Winter’s Best Face Masks:
If you’re looking for something to combat dryness and redness, this is the mask you need now. It’s so fast-acting, you’ll see results in minutes. The oats and botanical antioxidants also help repair the look and finish of the skin.
Light and soothing, this mask is my favorite product to apply while in the bath. It really seems to work on healing my skin when it has little bouts of redness. The price point is great too (it’s only $20!).
Formulated to brighten and exfoliate, this hydrating mask is perfect for conquering the colder temperatures associated with winter. It will leave you looking like you just stepped away from a tropical vacation. The cooling gel texture feels amazing too.
Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Masque
Refreshing and designed for dry, stressed skin, this is the perfect treatment for dull winter complexions. It’s infused with tomato seed lipids which work tirelessly to restore the skin’s protective barrier leaving you with the smoothest, healthiest finish.
If you’re battling winter redness, this is the mask for you. It’s super-soothing and works hard to fight irritation, itchiness, and inflammation. Leave it on for 10 minutes and your skin will feel velvety smooth and even as soon as you wash it off. It works quickly and effectively – trust me.
Fun fact: Joanna and I were next door neighbors for a year last year and I had no idea she was this famous skin guru until like 6 months in. Anyway, I’ve been obsessed with this mask since a friend recommended that I try it on a long flight to New York. It will literally change your skin overnight thanks to mandelic acid, which reduces the appearance of wrinkles and improves texture. Bonus: it’s also designed to exfoliate and fight acne for the smoothest, most glowing complexion ever. Oh, and if you’re in LA, pop by Joanna’s spa at the Sunset Tower hotel to check these out IRL.
Okay, so I have to admit, I was skeptical about this mask when I initially heard about it. It makes you look like a zombie when it’s on your face, and although I haven’t gotten to try it yet, my close friend did, and all the buzz is true, because it works wonders. According to her, as soon as you apply it, you’ll start to feel your skin tighten and wrinkle up (it’s wild!), but as soon as you wipe it off, you’ll be shocked at the results. Her skin looked tighter, smoother, brighter, and clearer after a single use. Once you’re done, you’ll feel like you just got the most effective facial ever. She loves it year-round, especially during winter, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it now so I can try it too!
