Back Story On My Hair
Recently I wrote a post about my top hair products that work for many hair types, which I still strongly stand by. In that post, I share how my hair can fall flat easily. This Coachella, I decided to try to style my hair and see how well I could make it last. After testing the products from my last post — and adding a couple others — I was able to make my hair last all weekend long.
How I Made My Hair Last At Coachella
If you’ve never been to Coachella, then I first want to explain what Coachella is like. It is hot, dry, crowded and dusty. It isn’t humid at all — so my hair falling wasn’t as big of a concern. This trip my hair concerns were partially how to make my waves last, and the other part was how to keep my hair feeling clean without having to wash it until the last day.
My 3 Day Hair Routine:
- Step 1: Washed my hair using Not Your Mother’s thickening shampoo and conditioner. I used this to help give my hair some texture so it wouldn’t be too flat to my face.
- Step 2: Dry shampoo. This might seem weird since I just washed my hair but dry shampoo adds a layers of texture to your silky clean hair so that when you style it, it can hold onto something. This time I used Batiste‘s dry shampoo. My hair dresser uses this one all the time and loves it…and it’s only $6.
- Step 3: Curl. I am not an expert at all at this. In fact, I am actually really bad at it but I just kind of curl whatever way my hand will move that day, work with it and hope for the best. The one thing I always do is leave the ends out! I inherited my curling wand from my sister and we’ve used it so much that the label is rubbed off but it looks like this if you are looking for one.
- Step 4: Spray with Living Proof Dry Volume Blast daily. This really helped keep my hair looking fresh everyday. It brought the look of the curls out each day and gave my hair the perfect amount of volume. When my hair felt really gross, I would spray it with dry shampoo too.
These 4 steps took me through a weekend of done hair for only one day of styling. Don’t believe me? Test it out for yourself! I’ve linked all of the products I used above. Once you do, let me know how it worked out in the comments below!
