Finding The Right Concealer
Concealer…something a working girl needs, but is hard to find. Finding the right one is a lot harder to find than you would think…or at least a lot harder than I thought when I started looking for one. I never wore concealer when I was a teenager so I never knew how hard it would be to find a good. I was looking for the right fit for me. A product that could cover the sun spots under my left eye and also make my under eyes look bright on the days I felt extra tired.
What I Looked For In A Concealer
When looking for concealer, there are so many on the market. While you can try many and see for yourself, it was important for my time to know what I was looking for to help narrow down the process. I wanted a product that lasted all day, didn’t crease or make me look dried out. I found so many of these concealers were either extra drying extra thick or they barely did anything at all.
What I Found Works
After trying many different concealers, I have narrowed it down to a few favorites (but I am always on the hunt for more). Right now I’m really into three brands:
NARS is currently on repeat for me right now and I use three of them for different reasons. I love the pot for covering my sun spots. The pot has now become my go to on days where I don’t wear make up — which is most days. I apply a small amount over my sun spots, and sometimes under eyes, and it evens my skin out in the perfect way. I then use NARS concealer sticks in two different shades for different reasons — I use Honey for canceling out any darkness that I may have under my eyes and Custard for brightening.
L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable Concealer is amazing. Honestly, L’Oreal True Match everything is amazing. I love that it all compliments each other so nicely and it is all really natural yet buildable. I have L’Oreal foundation in shade W3 for years and was so excited when I discovered they had a concealer that would compliment it well.
#3: Laura Mercier
Laura Mercier makes such amazing products and has been a favorite beauty brand of mine for years. Their Flawless Fusion Ultra Longwear concealer is amazing! It is lightweight and I love how dewey it is. It definitely does the opposite of dries you out and it lasts all day.
What To Set Your Concealer With
Now you’ve found the perfect concealer, but you need it to glow and last all day. I’d love to say concealer does it all — and it does most of it all — but if you’re looking for that extra last step, I highly recommend a powder to set what you’ve done. My personal favorite is Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder. Trust them when they say it is secret. I don’t know what they do differently than any other brand, but this one really works!
