My Obsession With Beauty
If you don’t already know, I am beauty and skin obsessed. I am overly obsessed with having my skin clean and clear but am also really picky with what I like. Not only am I obsessed with my skin, but I also love helping others improve their own skin. I try everything, don’t like most, but when I find something I like, I am super loyal. I’ve been this way since I was little. I used to — and still do — give my family facials. They call me their little monkey since I groom them and used to hope I would become an esthetician. It is really fun to me. Because of that, I have definitely done my research on where the best places are to get skin treatments done.
After trying many places – from fancy to your “hole in the wall” type place – I have been to them all. I have learned many things along the way, like less is more and where you go doesn’t have to be fancy to be good. With all of that, I’ve narrowed my list down to three favorite beauty skincare salons in Los Angeles…at the moment at least.
Beauty Salon #1: Shani Darden
Shani Darden is a celebrity esthetician. I’m sure you have heard about her from celebrities and beauty guru’s (in the sense that their skin is FLAWLESS) like Jessica Alba. She also does celebrities like Rosie Hunting Whitley and the name dropping can go on for a lot longer. Her salon (which is located in a Los Angeles home that used to be her own) consists of her and one other esthetician named Carin, who is actually the one I’ve seen. Her facials are by far the most expensive facial I’ve ever had, but they are amazing. They are the type of facial that you see a difference after. They give you products that work and they transformed my skin routine.
Beauty Salon #2: Face Haus
I can most easily describe Face Haus as the DryBar of skincare. They are located in West Hollywood and Studio City and are affordable facials that are great for when you’re on the go. You’re in and out in 45 minutes max and they get the job done. They use most organic products which is great for people like me who have sensitive skin and you will leave with glowing skin. I used to go here all the time when I lived walking distance from one and I loved it. It was great for maintaining my skin.
Beauty Salon #3: DMH Aesthetics
DMH Aesthetics is actually a Med Spa in Larchmont Village and do more specialized skincare treatments than just facials. They do anything from hydra facials, to lasers, to body treatments and injectables. While I typically am not the biggest fan of Med Spa’s, especially because they are so trendy these days, I love it here. I love that they offer treatments that actually work, they don’t try to sell you on anything and the staff is so nice there. They work hard to make you feel comfortable and like you are family there which is such a great environment to walk into when you’re somewhere like that when some of these places can feel so stuffy!
As always, let me know if you try any of these places or if you have already been. I love knowing if what I love works for you too! xx
