How To Spread Love and Build Confidence in 5 Steps
There are two things that are really important in life and especially important to reinforce right now — spreading love and self confidence. With everything going on in the world, it is easy to think negatively about others, the world, and eventually all that negative thinking gets us to feel negatively about ourselves. Positivity is contagious so let’s think and do like Ghandi, “you must be the change you wish to see in the world.”
I’ve found that selfless acts are easy to do and accomplish both important points – they both spread love and build confidence. I’ve put together 5 easy steps to do these both:
Smile. At anything. Even when you don’t feel like it. Studies show that people who smile more – forced or not – have decreased stress.
2: Ask someone how their day is
Ask someone how their day is. Doing something that seems as trivial as a “how are you?” or “how’s your day?” can impact someone way more than you think.
3: Open the door for someone
Open the door for someone. Whether the person shows you their gratitude or not, I guarantee your nice act didn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated.
4: Buy a stranger coffee
Buy the person behind you in line a coffee. Everyone deserves to be treated to something once in a while and maybe your nice act will inspire them to pay it forward to the next person.
5: Compliment yourself
Compliment yourself. You can’t fully love someone else unless you love yourself fully first + what’s the point of loving someone else if you can’t accept the love you’re receiving?! Tell yourself one thing a day you like about yourself.
