When planning a wedding there a few things to think about, which I will get to in another post, but one of the first things to decide is where. Do you want it in your own city or do you want a destination wedding? There’s pros and “cons” to both so I suggest writing a list out to see what is most important to you. For me, I loved the idea of having a destination wedding but there are also so many beautiful places in Los Angeles so it was hard to decide. Here are 5 places I considered:
First up, Los Angeles. My home. Matt and I are both born and raised from Los Angeles so naturally this was an idea for us. There are so many beautiful places around Los Angeles as wedding venue options as well. A couple of my favorites are Malibu (Calamigos Ranch is beautiful plus there are amazing homes and open land that you can rent to host your wedding) + the Bel Air Hotel is an all time favorite of mine. I have never attended a wedding at the Bel Air Hotel but the grounds are so private and incredible!
Aspen has a special place in my heart and it’s definitely a place I go to and feel happy. Matt’s family has a house there and for the past four years I go regularly. It is so beautiful and serene there and I love the slower pace of life.
I grew up at the beach and go to the Montage Laguna twice a year so it felt wrong not to have Laguna come to mind when I started thinking of wedding venues.
Italy is my favorite country in the world (so far) and also happens to be one of my favorite types of food…and happens to be the trip I was on when Matt and I got engaged so Italy had to be on our list of places to consider.
Does anything say romance more than Paris?! It had to be an option + the Four Seasons George V is one of my favorites!
Have you been to any of these places? If so, which is your favorite?
