Top Nail Colors For Thanksgiving
Cooler weather means it’s officially fall, the beginning of holiday season, which is Thanksgiving, and of course Fall manicures. If you’ve been following my blog for a while now then you know I believe strongly in manicured nails and what nail polish colors say about you and the situation. My mom taught me from a young age that manicured hands say a lot about a person and that your nails are a part of self care. Plus, nail polish trends can be fun to follow. Am I right? With Thanksgiving just a few weeks away, I’ve put together my top 5 nail colors for the holiday, why I love each of these colors, and what I’ve been taking to get stronger nails.
First, let’s start with that each of these colors are Essie colors. Essie happens to be my favorite brand of nail polish, followed by OPI. For me, Essie’s polishes last the longest, have the most variety, and who doesn’t love their creative names?!
Color #1: Social Lights

This polish is a great one to incorporate into your next manicure if you’re thinking of doing nail art + it’s part of Essie‘s latest Winter Nail Polish collection. I love the subtle metallic tone that helps give the polish a Thanksgiving festive vibe without being too over the top.
Color #2: Reds
Thanksgiving and Christmas are always two appropriate times for the color red. I especially love that for Thanksgiving you can pull off wearing both bright red or a deeper red. My two favorites this season are Fifth Avenue from the Central Park Collection and Bordeaux for a deeper red.
Color #3: Neutrals
Neutrals are a year round go to of mine. They compliment every skin tone nicely and they’re perfect for busy times like Thanksgiving where you might not have time to get a manicure and need the chips in your nails to not be obvious. My go to neutral colors typically are Topless and Barefoot, Ballet Slippers, and Mademoiselle
Color #4: Something Dark
I always look forward to the colder months so that I can wear darker colors again. After Halloween, leading into Thanksgiving is always when I feel ready for the change from bright Summer colors to darker tones. This season I’m loving After School Boy Blazer and Mistletoes.
Color #5: Charcoal Gray
Grey is a color that I always love for Fall but it is an especially trendy color this season. It’s a great neutral color if you don’t want to fully go with your natural skin color but still want something that’s versatile. I personally love Chinchilly and Smokin’ Hot.
What I’m Using To Strengthen My Nails
After using gel polish for almost a year my nails were in really bad shape. My nails constantly break, peel and they’ve just been really unhealthy. I started taking OLLY Beauty Vitamin‘s a month and a half ago and they’re the first supplements that have helped. I’ve been trying everything and have felt super discouraged but now recommend these. I wouldn’t say my nails are amazing now but they’re a lot better than they were before and they don’t break anymore. I’ll keep you posted as I’m on my second month!
